Brain anatomy is typically taught using static images. We asked participants to use their own hands represent the brain and perform gestures during learning. measured learning via a pretest/postest design. compared five video trainings in which heard similar audio repeated terminology aloud. Conditions were: (1) Image: Participants saw images of physical model brain. (2) Physical model: pointing model. (3) + action: performed actions on (4) Hand being used (5) seen video. All improved post-test performance. Performance hand condition was worse conditions with action. connect these findings larger claim that gesture benefits
